Paris
It’s always a good idea.
The Restaurants
Parcelles
Located in the Marais, this neo-bistro opened in 2021, and continues to deliver incredible food and great wine. I went twice last year and fully enjoyed both meals. Parcelles on all the top restaurant lists for Paris right now and is probably my favorite restaurant at the moment.
Le Bon Georges
A classic Parisian bistro known for its steak hache. The vibe is very Parisian and charming so go for lunch or dinner, or both!
Verjus
This American-owned restaurant has a lovely and whimsical tasting menu.
Ellsworth
This is the casual sister restaurant to Verjus. We indulged in fried chicken with zero regrets.
Pastore
If you get tired of French, this restaurant in the 2nd arrondissement is my pick for Italian. Enjoy delicious pastas paired with a bottle from their extensive Italian wine list.
L'Arpege
Chef Alain Passard has maintained 3 Michelin stars since 1996. Incredible for a fancy meal, of course, but if you’d like to save a few euro then going for lunch offers better value.
Septime
Fantastic tasting menu with very fresh ingredients. If you can't get in here, and love seafood, try Clamato, their sister restaurant down the street. Clamato doesn't take reservations, and is open for lunch.
Marché des Enfants Rouges
Located in the Marais district, this is the oldest covered food market in Paris. Make sure it’s on your day trip list!
Mary Celeste
Also in the Marais, you’ll find this lively wine bar/restaurant with a pub vibe. Always packed with locals.
La Tour d'Argent
Enjoy gorgeous views of the Seine from this 6th floor vantage point. Known for its legendary wine list (it is a tome!) with great pricing. I've been here twice and have had some of the best Burgundies of my life. They closed last year for renovations and just recently reopened. Better prices for lunch than dinner.
Vantre
Wonderful bistro in the 11th arrondissement with a focus on incredible wine.
The Hotels
Kimpton St. Honoré
A Fora favorite! Located steps away from the Opera Garnier and Tuileries Garden, Kimpton is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Paris for the first time.
Bonus: There’s a heated spa swimming pool and beautiful 360° panorama at the hotel’s rooftop bar (pictured).
Hotel des Grands Boulevards
From the creative team of Experimental Group, this lively boutique hotel in the 2nd arrondissement makes a lovely home base in Paris. Note that their guest rooms are on the smaller side.
Bonus: Grab a drink in their lobby bar… I had one of the best margaritas ever!
Four Seasons Hotel George V
This elegant Paris landmark was established in 1928, and has since been lovingly restored to reflect the Four Seasons standards. Just steps from the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, this is the hotel if you want designer shopping and stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. A meal at Le George (pictured at bottom) is nothing short of legendary.
Mandarin Oriental (top image)
For pure luxury, look no further! In the heart of Paris on rue Saint-Honoré, you’ll find this hotel as well as the most exclusive fashion houses. The Mandarin Oriental is a wonderful oasis to take a break from the busy streets and shops outside. They have a lovely terrace bar away from the hustle and bustle, and the restaurant boasts an incredible wine list.
Cheval Blanc
In the heart of Paris, near the Louvre Museum, this newly opened (2020) hotel is the last word in luxury. Boasting a 3 Michelin star restaurant, Epicure, you’ll get one of the very best in Parisian fine dining.
When you book any of these hotels with me, exclusive perks include:
Daily Breakfast
VIP Welcome Amenities
Up to $100 USD Food & Beverage Credit
Complimentary Room Upgrade (subject to availability)
Early check-in/Late check-out whenever possible
Cheval Blanc offers complimentary round-trip private airport or train station hotel transfer; VIP Meet & Greet, and fast track immigration upon arrival.
“Always a great idea. I've had the privilege of visiting Paris at least eight times, and each visit unveils a new bistro, boulangerie, or boutique to explore. The City of Love is truly in a league of its own; a place you can return to time and time again and always discover something novel. From leisurely strolls through the Marais (my favorite district), to shopping on Rue Saint-Honoré and getting lost in the charm of the Latin Quarter, you're guaranteed to have a fantastic time in Paris. I'm already planning my next trip back!”
